The Ledlenser EX7 is an independently certified ATEX and IECEx intrinsically safe handheld torch rated for Zone 0 gas environments and Zone 20 dust environments. Certified to II 1G Ex ia op is IIC T4 Ga and II 1D Ex ia op is IIIC T135°C Da, the EX7 is the first Zone 0/20 rated torch to incorporate the Advanced Focus System - delivering spot-to-flood beam adjustment in a handheld format where no comparable alternative previously existed.

Delivering 200 lumens with a 120-metre beam, a magnetic glove-compatible switch, up to 45 hours of runtime on 3 × AA alkaline batteries and a supplied belt clip for hands-free deployment, the EX7 provides the illumination, control and reliability that Zone 0/20 environments demand in a compact, handheld format.

What is the difference between the EX4, EX7, EX7R and EXH8 in the Ledlenser ATEX range?

The EX4 is the compact pocket carry option — 65g, 50 lumens, single mode, no focus function. The EX7 (this product) delivers 200 lumens with the Advanced Focus System and magnetic switch in Zone 0/20. The EX7R is the rechargeable equivalent rated for Zone 1/21 rather than Zone 0/20 — 220 lumens with a charging dock. The EXH8 is the Zone 0/20 head torch — sharing the same certification as the EX7 but in a hands-free headband format with 180 lumens, rear red positional light and overhead strap stability. Choose the EX7 for Zone 0/20 handheld use with beam flexibility; the EXH8 for Zone 0/20 hands-free head torch use.

Is the EX7 the first Zone 0/20 torch with an Advanced Focus System?

Yes. According to Ledlenser, the EX7 is the first torch in the Zone 0/20 classification to incorporate the Advanced Focus System — allowing seamless spot-to-flood beam adjustment within a fully certified intrinsically safe handheld torch. Previously, Zone 0/20 rated torches were limited to fixed beam outputs.

How does the belt clip work and can the EX7 be used hands-free?

Yes. The supplied intelligent belt clip holds the EX7 and directs the beam in a fixed position, converting it into a hands-free lighting tool when clipped to a belt, strap or garment. An additional Intelligent Clip Type G (item 500957) is available separately for alternative mounting configurations.

Why does the EX7 use AA alkaline batteries rather than a rechargeable cell?

In Zone 0/20 environments, recharging equipment within the hazardous area is typically not permitted. AA alkaline batteries provide worldwide availability and can be replaced quickly without tools or an allen key. For rechargeable ATEX torch capability, the EX7R serves Zone 1/21 environments.
