LIGHT MODE RANGE

Cool White (ML4):

  • Boost — 300 lumens / 2.5-hour runtime
  • Power — 150 lumens / 8-hour runtime
  • Low power — 5 lumens / 45-hour runtime
  • Blink — signalling mode
  • Red light — Low, Mid and Blink

Warm White (ML4 Warm Light):

  • Boost — 300 lumens / 2.2-hour runtime
  • Power — 150 lumens / 7-hour runtime
  • Low power — 5 lumens / 40-hour runtime
  • Blink — signalling mode
  • Red light — Low, Mid and Blink

ENDLESS BENEFITS:

  • Micro Prism Technology — glare-free, efficient illumination across the full 9-LED array for comfortable close-range area lighting.
  • 300 lumens / five white modes plus red light — Boost, Power, Mid Power, Low Power and Blink; red light mode (Low, Mid and Blink) preserves night vision and functions as a safety signal.
  • Dual Power Source — rechargeable 14500 Li-ion battery (magnetic contact charging, 150-minute charge time) or standard AA alkaline as a direct alternative; no modification required.
  • Carabiner snap hook — attach to rucksack, tent loop, belt, strap or keyring; the ML4 is always within reach.
  • Fluorescent elements — on switch and strip visible in the dark; locate the lantern without a secondary light source.
  • Transport lock — prevents accidental activation during storage and carry.
  • IP66 rated and 2-metre drop tested — water jet resistant and impact tested for sustained outdoor use.
  • Up to 45 hours runtime — 5 lumens at low power for extended ambient use; 2.5 hours at full 300-lumen output.

FAQs

What is the difference between the ML4 and the ML4 Warm White?

The two ML4 variants are identical in every specification — output, runtime, dual power source, mounting, IP66 rating and dimensions — with one difference: colour temperature. The standard ML4 outputs cool white light at 3,700K–4,200K, suited to task-focused use where accurate, neutral illumination is the priority. The ML4 Warm White outputs at 2,500K–3,000K with a CRI of 80 — a softer, amber-toned light that creates a more relaxed ambient atmosphere for camp evenings, social outdoor use and any setting where cooler white light would feel harsh. Choose the standard ML4 for versatile task and navigation use; choose the Warm White for relaxed camping and ambient illumination.

What is the difference between the ML4 and the ML6?

The ML4 is the ultra-compact option — 71g, 97mm, carabiner snap hook for keyring and rucksack carry, 300 lumens and IP66 rating. The ML6 is the larger, higher-output lantern at 280g, 178mm, 750 lumens, with a power bank function for charging phones, a removable stand, magnetic base, rubber hook and Smart Light Technology. The ML4 prioritises portability and go-anywhere carry; the ML6 prioritises output, feature set and campsite versatility. If weight and pack space are the primary concern, choose the ML4; if maximum output and the power bank function are more important, choose the ML6.

How does the dual power source work on the ML4?

The ML4 runs on the included 14500 Li-ion rechargeable battery, which charges via the magnetic contact charging cable without being removed from the lantern — simply connect the magnetic cable to the charging contacts on the base. If the rechargeable battery depletes during an outdoor trip and charging is not available, a standard AA alkaline battery can be inserted directly as a replacement — no modification or adaptor required. AA batteries are available from any supermarket, petrol station or corner shop worldwide.

Is the ML4 waterproof enough for camping and outdoor use?

Yes. IP66 confirms full dust protection and resistance to powerful water jets from any direction — significantly more robust than basic splash resistance and more than sufficient for rain, condensation and general outdoor exposure. Combined with a 2-metre drop test, the ML4 is built for the physical realities of active outdoor carry and camping use in typical British conditions.

What does the red light mode do on the ML4?

The red light mode provides low-level illumination that preserves night vision — the natural adaptation of your eyes to darkness that takes time to develop and can be lost almost instantly with white light exposure. Using red light for moving around camp, reading maps or finding kit in a tent allows you to maintain natural dark adaptation while still being able to see. The blink setting on the red mode also functions as a position signal for safety use.

Can the ML4 be used as a rear safety light on a rucksack?

Yes — the carabiner snap hook allows the ML4 to be clipped to the rear attachment point of a rucksack, with the red blink mode providing a visible safety signal to drivers and other road users approaching from behind. For trail runners, cyclists and walkers, this makes the ML4 a practical dual-use item as both a camp lantern and a passive safety device.
