The Ledlenser TAC6R is a compact, powerful tactical torch engineered for police, security, search and rescue, hunting and demanding outdoor use. At the heart of the TAC6R is Ledlenser's Multi-Lens Technology — three LEDs that can be used in combination to produce a simultaneous flood and spotlight tactical beam, or individually for pure spot or pure flood output. This is fundamentally different from the Advanced Focus System, which uses a single LED with a mechanical lens adjustment to shift between spot and flood. Multi-Lens Technology allows simultaneous spot and flood output that no single-lens system can replicate.

What is the difference between the TAC6R and TAC7R?

Both are tactical rechargeable torches with Multi-Lens Technology, IP68 protection and hard-anodised aluminium housings. The key differences are battery format, output and additional features. The TAC6R uses an 18650 battery (2,600mAh) and delivers 2,000 lumens boost. The TAC7R uses a larger 21700 battery (4,600mAh), delivers 3,200 lumens boost with a longer 6-hour TAC Mid runtime, and adds a Mode Select Ring for more intuitive brightness control alongside the end-cap switch, plus RGB colour modes (red, green, blue) for tactical colour signalling. For maximum output and the full feature set, choose the TAC7R; for a more compact tactical torch at lower cost, the TAC6R is the practical choice.

What does the TAC Boost mode do and when should I use it?

TAC Boost delivers 2,000 lumens for a short burst — maximum output for momentary high-impact situations requiring immediate, intense illumination. It is not designed for sustained use; the burst duration is limited by the thermal management system to protect the battery and LED. For sustained high-output tactical use, TAC High (1,100 lumens) provides the balance of output and runtime suited to extended operational periods.

Can the TAC6R be used with CR123 batteries in the field?

Yes. The TAC6R accepts CR123 batteries as an alternative to the included 18650 rechargeable cell — providing a backup power option when USB-C recharging is unavailable in operational conditions. CR123 batteries are widely available from security and outdoor equipment suppliers. Using CR123 cells provides an emergency power source without compromising operational capability.
