This is indicated by the serial number. Serial numbers for pre-2017 models will start with numbers that predate 1711******, where 17 denotes the year and 11 denotes the month, eg. 1610******. If your serial number is only 6 digits long, then this is pre-2017 also. Our updated compartment with 2 connectors will work the same to replace an old compartment with 3 connectors.
