FAQs

What is the difference between the P4 and the P4R?

The P4 uses 2 × AAA alkaline batteries with no built-in charging — instantly ready from fresh cells with no downtime. The P4R is rechargeable, delivering 300 lumens (vs 180 lumens on the P4) with a 700mAh Li-ion battery that charges via USB-C, dual power source capability accepting AAA cells as an alternative, and 13-hour low-power runtime (vs 23 hours at low power on the P4 thanks to its two-cell alkaline setup). For maximum output and rechargeable convenience, choose the P4R; for longer low-power runtime and battery-powered simplicity, the P4.

Is the P4 suitable for professional inspection use?

Yes — the P4 is specifically designed for inspection and detail work. The Advanced Focus System's flood-to-spot beam adjustment allows the beam to be widened for broad close-range illumination during inspection, then tightened to a spot for identifying specific components or marks at distance. The integrated pocket clip ensures it is immediately accessible on overalls and work clothing throughout a shift. The 2-metre drop test and IP54 rating confirm durability for professional working environments.

Can I use rechargeable batteries in the P4?

Yes. The P4 accepts AAA NiMH 1.2V rechargeable batteries charged in a separate external charger — reducing ongoing battery costs and waste for regular professional users. NiMH cells have a slightly lower nominal voltage (1.2V vs 1.5V for alkaline) which may marginally reduce maximum output; performance is otherwise equivalent for most professional use.
