FAQs

What is the difference between the H9R, H9R Pro and H9R Signature?

All three share the same core specification - Adaptive Light Beam, Digital Advanced Focus System, three LEDs, IP67 protection and a 4600mAh battery with red, green and blue light modes. The H9R is the versatile all-rounder for rescue and outdoor use. The H9R Pro adds a rugged, rubberised build, helmet mounting accessories and a carry pouch for professional site use. The H9R Signature adds a higher 2200-lumen boost, a reflective headband, grey metallic housing and a carry pouch for the premium adventure option.

What is the Digital Advanced Focus System and how does it work alongside Adaptive Light Beam?

These are two separate, complementary beam control systems. Adaptive Light Beam is automatic - it continuously adjusts brightness and focus based on ambient conditions without manual input, ideal during sustained hands-free activity. The Digital Advanced Focus System is manual - a digital focus ring allows precise beam adjustment from wide flood to tight spot at any point. Adaptive Light Beam handles routine adjustments seamlessly during movement, while the Digital Advanced Focus System provides direct control when a specific beam is needed - locking onto a distant trail marker, flooding a campsite, or pinpointing a component during a repair.

What are the red, green and blue light modes used for?

Red light helps preserve your night vision during extended low-light use, green light is designed for wildlife observation without disturbing animals, and blue light makes fluids like water, oil or blood easier to spot. The optional red rear light adds visibility to others in the dark, useful for group activities like hiking, boating or search and rescue.

Can I use the H9R family while the battery is charging?

Yes - across the H9R, H9R Pro and H9R Signature, the rechargeable battery continues to operate even while connected via USB-C, so you're never left without light mid-shift or mid-adventure.

Are the H9R models waterproof and dustproof?

Yes, all three are rated IP67, meaning they're fully dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water - suitable for mountain, water, worksite or all-weather outdoor use depending on the model.

Which H9R model is right for helmet use or professional site work?

The H9R Pro is purpose-built for this - it includes helmet mounting accessories (helmet mount, Ledlenser Connect adapter, adhesive pads and fixing clips), rubberised controls for glove-friendly operation, and a rugged rubberised headband back. The standard H9R and H9R Signature don't include helmet mounting hardware and are better suited to handheld/headband-only use in rescue and outdoor settings.
